John Leslie Welty, 41, of Davie, Florida, was last seen at home on December 24, 1998 and reported missing by his wife about a week later. He disappeared under suspicious circumstances and foul play is suspected; authorities consider him endangered missing and fear he may have been murdered and his body disposed of in an unknown location.
At the time he vanished Welty was known to be using drugs, a factor investigators think may be linked to his disappearance. He was 5 feet 11 inches, weighed between 160 and 210 pounds, and had brown hair and either brown or possibly blue eyes. He had scars on various parts of his body and tattoos on his left wrist and upper arm.
Despite an extensive investigation, no significant leads have emerged and the Davie Police Department says the case remains unsolved with no recent developments. If anyone knew John, his movements around December 24, 1998, or has information that could lead to his whereabouts, please contact investigators.
