On the evening of Friday, July 10, 2026, 52-year-old Beatriz Mendez Feliciano was found inside an apartment on North Berkshire Road in Charlottesville with a severe gunshot wound to the head. First responders transported her to the UVA Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported seeing a Latino male flee the scene shortly after the shooting in an older model red car. Investigators say the preliminary findings pointed toward a domestic-related incident, and the Charlottesville Police Department describes the case as an active homicide investigation. No suspect identity has been released and no arrests have been announced.

Does anyone in the Charlottesville area have information about a red older-model car or the person who fled that evening?
