Christopher Novembre, 47, was found with a gunshot wound inside his apartment at 1525 48th Street in North Bergen on Friday, July 10, 2026. Police were called at about 1:30 p.m.; he was transported to Jersey City Medical Center in critical condition and pronounced dead soon after arrival. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office was to determine the official cause and manner of death.

A lifelong North Bergen resident, Novembre attended North Bergen High School and Hudson County Community College and worked as a climber and rigger for IATSE Local 632. Friends and colleagues remembered him as kind, dependable, and compassionate; his final social media post, a photo of clouds with a reflective caption, has been noted by those mourning him.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and North Bergen Police are investigating. Authorities say they have identified an individual involved in the shooting but have not named a suspect or filed charges.
