Around 9:30 a.m., officers found a man in his 30s in the 1200 block of Bretta Street who had been shot multiple times; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Family members identified the victim as Dejuan Mitchell, who had been living with his grandmother near where the shooting occurred.
A neighbor provided Ring camera footage that captured the audio of the gunfire. Homicide detectives canvassed the area and are investigating to determine what led to the shooting. Sgt. Howard Saunders addressed community safety concerns and said the department is committed to supporting residents.
