Ronald Cleveland Brown III, 39, was killed shortly after midnight on July 5, 2026, when gunfire broke out during a large gathering in the 500 block of Solomon Street in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. Brown and another local man, Devante O. Tweety Elliott, were among three people struck; both Brown and Elliott were pronounced dead at the scene while a third victim was taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The Batesburg-Leesville Police Department opened a double-homicide investigation and processed the Solomon Street scene, interviewing witnesses and pursuing leads. The Saluda County Coroner Angie Rita identified both victims, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was assisting. Authorities asked attendees and neighbors to submit photographs, recordings or information that might show what happened before, during or immediately after the shooting.

No arrest, suspect identification, motive or criminal charges had been announced. Can anyone who attended the gathering or who has photos or video from the area help investigators by coming forward?
