A dispute between two residents at the Kemper Lane Apartments in Cincinnati’s Walnut Hills neighborhood turned deadly shortly after noon on June 30, 2026. Responding officers found 47-year-old Gregory Taylor-Tolliver with critical gunshot wounds; he was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

Police initially took a suspect into custody at the scene. Investigators from the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit reviewed physical evidence and video, including cell phone and social media footage. Those materials reportedly show the shooter attempting to walk away from Taylor-Tolliver after a physical altercation before the confrontation escalated to gunfire.

The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office later announced no criminal charges would be filed, ruling the shooting a justifiable homicide on the grounds the shooter acted in self-defense under Ohio law. The prosecutor said the case could be reopened if new evidence emerges; the shooter’s name was not released.

Did anyone in Walnut Hills witness the altercation or have information about what led up to the fight?
