On the evening of Saturday, June 27, 2026, 16-year-old Brandon Henderson was fatally shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 9200 block of Old Santa Fe Road in Kansas City, Missouri. An 18-year-old, Dillion Boykin, was also killed in the same incident. Police were called about 10:30 p.m.; Boykin was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at a hospital. Brandon was privately driven to a hospital and died of his injuries.
Witnesses reported hearing what some believed to be automatic gunfire. This double homicide was the second fatal double shooting on that block within 16 days, heightening community alarm. The Kansas City Police Department opened a homicide investigation, canvassed the area and appealed for information; a reward has been offered for tips. No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested and the investigation remains open.
If anyone saw activity in the 9200 block of Old Santa Fe Road on June 27 or has information that could help, please come forward.
