In the early hours of Saturday, June 27, 2026, Jose Woosvelito Dantes, 26, of Brockton was killed in a multi-victim shooting in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood. Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation around 1:45 a.m. and found victims at two nearby locations on Blue Hill Avenue. Dantes was located near 1460 Blue Hill Avenue and was pronounced dead at the scene; four other people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, including one who went to a hospital independently.

Dantes was born in Petion-Ville, Haiti, lived for a time in Trinidad and Tobago, and attended Charlestown High School where he played football. An obituary described him as a father who was loved by his family and remembered for a positive attitude and interest in fashion. The Boston Police Homicide Unit is conducting an active investigation and has asked anyone with information to come forward; no arrests or suspects had been publicly identified as of late June 2026.

Does anyone have information about movements on Blue Hill Avenue that night or saw anything that could help investigators?
