Nathan Delray Kezar, 35, was fatally shot in Minneapolis in the early hours of Friday, June 26, 2026. The shooting occurred about 12:45 a.m. on the 2500 block of Clinton Avenue South in the Whittier neighborhood. Officers responding to multiple reports of gunfire found Kezar with life-threatening injuries; police and emergency responders provided aid but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives secured and processed the scene and canvassed the area for witnesses. About ten minutes after the shooting, a second man arrived at a south Minneapolis hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and told police he had been shot elsewhere in south Minneapolis. Investigators are examining whether that person’s injuries are connected to Kezar’s death. No arrests have been announced and the motive remains unknown.
If anyone in Whittier that night saw gunfire, vehicles leaving the area, or has information that could help identify suspects, please come forward to the Minneapolis Police Department.
