Antrawla Mejoy Kelly, 45, was killed during a domestic disturbance at a Kansas City residence on the evening of Thursday, June 25, 2026. Police were called to the 2800 block of East Sixth Street about 6:15 p.m. after reports of a woman being assaulted. Officers heard a disturbance and gunfire as they approached, forced entry, and found Kelly with severe gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital and pronounced deceased about 7:50 p.m.
Officers arrested an adult male at the scene who was later identified as William O’Neal. Witnesses told investigators the incident began after O’Neal returned from the World Cup Fan Festival and started arguing with Kelly; one witness said O’Neal struck Kelly in the face, and family members reported she tried to flee before being pulled back inside. Jackson County prosecutors have charged William O’Neal with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. The investigation into the full circumstances remains open.
If anyone saw or heard anything on East Sixth Street that evening or knows more about what happened, please share information with investigators.
