Jamiah Sentell Carson, 33, was fatally shot during a domestic-related altercation at an apartment in the Double Oak Court complex near Highway 76 and Cornelia Road in Anderson, South Carolina, on Monday, June 22, 2026. Emergency dispatchers received a shooting call shortly before 3:15 p.m.; officers and medics found Carson with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was treated at the scene, taken to AnMed, and died shortly after arrival. The Anderson County Coroner, Greg Shore, ruled the cause of death a gunshot wound and classified it a homicide.

Investigators say preliminary evidence ties the shooting to a domestic dispute that escalated, but authorities have not described the relationship between Carson and the other person involved or explained how the confrontation turned violent. One individual was taken into custody for questioning; that person has not been publicly identified as a suspect and no charges have been announced. A search warrant was executed at the apartment, forensic evidence collected, and witnesses interviewed as the Anderson Police Department and the coroner worked to establish who fired the fatal shot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Anderson Police Department at 864-260-4444 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. Did anyone in the Double Oak Court area see or hear anything that afternoon?
