Amir Coleman, 22, of Harker Heights, Texas, died after being shot in the early morning hours of June 21, 2026. At about 3:28 a.m. a private vehicle brought him to Seton Hospital with a gunshot wound; he later died that morning. Responding officers say the shooting occurred in the 700 block of Edwards Drive and the case has been classified as a homicide. Police described the incident as isolated and not a broader threat to the community.

Within days investigators arrested two people in connection with the shooting. Eighteen-year-old Aalyah Arellano of Harker Heights was booked on a murder charge with bond set at $1,000,000. Twenty-year-old Gustavo Arellano of Killeen was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, each count carrying a $150,000 bond. The Harker Heights Police Department asks anyone with information about the case to come forward.
