A June 21, 2026 downtown Nashville confrontation left 12-year-old Damarion Morehead dead after a fight in a courtyard at Representative John Lewis Way and Deaderick Street. Damarion, described by family as a football-loving middle school student who hoped to attend college, was among six to seven people involved in a dispute reportedly over a female. During the brawl, 24-year-old Devin Orr was seen on video reaching into his waistband for a handgun; when people scattered he fired, and a bullet struck Damarion in the head. Damarion was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and later pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives identified and arrested Devin Orr the next morning. Orr told investigators he had hidden the pistol in a sewer on Charlotte Pike; the weapon was recovered. He was charged with criminal homicide. Does anyone in Nashville have information about the courtyard confrontation or the people present that evening?
