Eric Markquis Bartley Miller, 18, known as Ejay and a student at Glenn Hills High School, was shot and killed on June 20, 2026, during a party at a short-term rental on Warren Road in Augusta, Georgia. Deputies found him with at least one gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another 18-year-old, Joseph Lamar Thomas, was also wounded.

The gathering had produced prior neighborhood complaints about large, disruptive parties. Investigators say an argument escalated into gunfire that also struck several vehicles and a nearby home. Authorities recovered at least one weapon altered to function as a fully automatic firearm.

Richmond County deputies arrested three teenagers in connection with the shooting: 18-year-old D'Mihjay Collins, 17-year-old Taan Thomas, and the injured Joseph Lamar Thomas III. They were charged with murder, aggravated assault, and machine gun possession. The sheriff publicly warned about teens obtaining guns by illegal means.
