On June 18, 2026, 23-year-old Bryan Peet of Lee’s Summit was shot and killed after an argument that began inside an apartment in the Hidden Valley neighborhood of Kansas City escalated into the complex’s parking lot. The dispute drew in several other people, gunfire erupted, and Peet was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead.

Kansas City Police responded around 4:45 p.m. to the 9400 block of Cleveland Avenue and opened a homicide investigation. Detectives say the suspect or suspects fled in an unknown direction and no arrests had been announced the next day. Investigators canvassed the area and appealed for witnesses, offering a possible reward for information that could lead to an arrest.

If anyone saw the confrontation move from the apartment to the parking lot or has information about who fled the scene, please contact investigators.
