On the evening of June 18, 2026, shots were fired near the intersection of Pleasure Avenue and Tyler Street in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, fatally wounding 29-year-old Justin Crawford. A second person was wounded in the same attack and treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local medical center.
Within days investigators identified 35-year-old Terry Martizna of Lanesborough as a suspect and on June 23 a warrant was issued charging him with murder. Authorities described Martizna as armed and dangerous and noted a prior record that included a 2017 prison sentence for firearms charges tied to a 2015 probation violation involving two counts of armed assault with intent to kill. As of late June 2026 Martizna remained at large while the Pittsfield Police, Massachusetts State Police and Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department continued the search.
This is a community still waiting for answers and justice after Crawford’s death. If anyone has information about that night or Martizna’s whereabouts, please come forward.
