On the afternoon of June 18, 2026, 24-year-old Veronica Lopez was found shot to death in the hallway of an apartment building in Pomona, California. Lopez, a former professional skateboarder and San Francisco 49ers fan who lived in San Diego, had been visiting the Pomona apartment of her boyfriend of two years, 48-year-old Robert Galtman, when she was killed. Also found fatally shot at the scene was 48-year-old Richard Brady; family members of both victims say Brady was trying to help Lopez during a dispute with Galtman.

The Pomona Police Department identified Galtman as the suspect; he fled and was later located more than 70 miles away after a California Highway Patrol license plate reader spotted his black Kia sedan. A roughly 90-minute multi-county high-speed chase ended in Lancaster after CHP officers used a spike strip and a PIT maneuver. Objects later believed to be a dismantled gun were seen thrown from his vehicle. Galtman surrendered and was booked on suspicion of murder, held on $3.1 million bail. Veronica’s family, who had urged her to leave an abusive relationship, learned of her death after seeing the televised chase and recognizing her car and dog.

Does anyone have information about Veronica’s time in Pomona or observed activity around that apartment building on June 18 that could help investigators?
