Jeremy T. Keenan, a 43-year-old white man, died from a gunshot wound after being found with life-threatening injuries inside his crashed vehicle at Truman Road and Bennington Avenue in Kansas City on the evening of June 16, 2026. He was taken to a hospital but later pronounced deceased; his death was ruled a homicide and detectives opened an extensive investigation.
Keenan’s shooting was linked by investigators to a series of roadway shootings that day that wounded four other people. Authorities identified 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz as the suspect and expanded the probe to include the FBI, which offered a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. A separate standoff at a family member’s home ended when the suspect’s body was later found in a burned, flooded basement; the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office was assigned to identify the remains and determine cause of death.
Keenan is remembered by family as generous and loyal. If anyone saw events on Truman Road and Bennington Avenue on June 16, 2026, or has information about the shootings, please come forward.
