Santrail Lowe, 24, was found dead in a Fort Lauderdale junkyard along Northwest Sixth Place on February 24, 1987. Investigators determined she had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Her killing occurred during the final months of a string of attacks on women in northwest Fort Lauderdale, many of whom were found in vacant lots, abandoned structures, and other secluded spots.
Officers arrested Eddie Lee Mosley on a separate charge on May 17, 1987; during questioning he reportedly described meeting a woman in or near an abandoned block building, drinking with her, having sexual contact, and seeing her become unresponsive. Mosley was charged with Lowe’s murder the next day. Psychological evaluations later found him incompetent to stand trial, and he was committed to the Florida State Hospital in October 1987. Subsequent genetic testing reportedly did not conclusively match Mosley to Lowe, and no one else has been publicly arrested, tried, or convicted for her killing.
Which details about Santrail Lowe’s last movements or the Fort Lauderdale crimes would help connect the missing pieces in this case?
