Nancy Grubert-Harvey was 52 when she was murdered on January 25, 2013, at her business, the Atlanta Car Company, in Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. She owned and ran the used car dealership and was remembered for being kind and fair in her business dealings.

Her body was found inside the business by an employee. The scene showed she had been beaten, bound with zip ties, and asphyxiated with a plastic bag; her office had been ransacked and the area doused in bleach. Investigators released surveillance footage that captured individuals in tactical gear approaching the business before the killing, but no arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved.
