Jie Tao Liu, a 58-year-old truck driver from San Jose, was found unconscious near his truck on Middle Harbor Road in the Port of Oakland area on June 24, 2010. He died the next morning from injuries sustained in a broad daylight street fight. Initial responders did not immediately recognize that he had been struck; an autopsy later found blunt force trauma to the head as the cause of death and the case was ruled a homicide.
