Eddie Dwayne Childers was 38 when he was murdered in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 6, 1988. Childers’ death was later linked to a wider pattern of killings by Durocher dating back to 1983.

Investigators say that Durocher’s history included the 1983 slayings of his girlfriend Grace Reed and her two young children, six-month-old Joshua and five-year-old Candice, and the 1986 murder of Thomas Underwood III during a robbery. Childers’ killing in 1988 is described as the final murder in that series. Durocher was arrested, convicted of first-degree murder in Childers’ death and, during imprisonment, confessed to the other killings.

Does anyone have memories of Eddie Childers or information about his life in Jacksonville that could add context to this case?
