On November 22, 1987 the body of 19-year-old Lamonica Cole of Ohio was found at a truck stop in Breezewood, Pennsylvania. She had been strangled and a scarf was forced down her throat. Cole was last seen in a blue semi-trailer truck with white stripes, a detail reported by her pimp, Derrick Mims.

Investigators linked her killing to a pattern of similar murders of women involved in sex work along major interstates in Ohio, Illinois, and New York. Semen recovered from five crime scenes suggested a single perpetrator — a long-haul trucker who used CB handles such as Dr. No, Stargazer, or Dragon. Descriptions placed him between 25 and 40 years old in 1987, with dark hair and possibly of Middle-Eastern descent.

Several truckers have been examined over the years, including Alvin Wilson and Sean Patrick Goble. DNA developments led investigators to arrest Samuel W. Legg in 2019 for some Ohio murders, but his age makes it unlikely he committed the early to mid-1980s killings. No one has been arrested, charged, or convicted for Lamonica Cole’s murder. Does anyone remember Lamonica, the blue semi-trailer, or activity at the Breezewood truck stop that November?
