Terri Kay Roark, a 31-year-old white woman, was found dead on the northbound lanes of Interstate 87 on the Thaddeus Kosciusko Bridge in Clifton Park, New York, in the early hours of March 29, 1988. An autopsy determined she died of a traumatic brain injury from a severe beating with a blunt object that fractured her skull. Investigators estimated she had been killed several hours earlier and apparently pushed from a moving vehicle.
Roark had no clear ties to New York; she was last seen on March 21, 1988, leaving a mental health facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her parents lived in Mount Pleasant, Texas, and she was identified by a Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint match on July 26, 1988, 119 days after the body was found. A grey duffel bag containing her personal items was recovered the same day her body was found on the center median of the Northway north of Exit 11 in Malta and was believed to have been thrown from a vehicle. Some of her clothing, including underwear and shoes, were never recovered. No arrests have been made and the New York State Police list the case as an active cold case.
Investigators have explored possible links to an unidentified suspected serial offender referred to as Dr.
Does anyone have information about Roark’s movements between March 21 and March 29, 1988, or saw her along interstate routes in that period?
