A late-night shooting on the near east side of Indianapolis left 42-year-old Antonio Michael Tony Ball dead. The shooting happened about 11:50 p.m. on August 22, 2026, in the 1900 block of North Lasalle Street, a residential block near East 21st and North Rural streets. Officers found two men who had been shot; Ball was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner’s Office and a second man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Homicide detectives from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department describe the incident as isolated. The investigation remains open and active, and detectives are seeking community help.
