On the morning of August 22, 2026, 27-year-old Atirah N. Steed was killed by multiple gunshot wounds at a Market Street residence in Freemansburg, Pennsylvania. Police found her in the living room shortly after 6 a.m.; her 45-year-old father, Alphonso Steed, was also shot and taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill in critical but stable condition. Atirah was pronounced dead at 7:16 a.m., and an autopsy confirmed homicide by multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators arrested 27-year-old Lacole Diane Dotson at the scene. Dotson, identified as Alphonso’s girlfriend and the mother of his one-year-old child, was charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person. Witnesses described an argument between Dotson and Atirah the night before; Dotson admitted to taking a 9mm handgun upstairs the next morning and later told police she felt threatened, though she said she had not seen Atirah with a weapon or had a physical fight immediately before the shooting. Dotson was arraigned and denied bail; the Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Major Case Team is leading the investigation and legal proceedings are underway.

Does anyone have information about the household, the timeline that night, or other witnesses who were at the residence?
