On the evening of August 22, 2026, 19-year-old Jermaine Oliver was found dead inside a vehicle at the intersection of Martin Luther King Street and the J.L. Chestnut Boulevard railroad crossing in Selma, Alabama. Officers arrived about 10:12 p.m. and located Oliver slumped over in the driver’s seat with a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities have asked anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area that night to contact the Selma Police Department.
