On August 18, 2026, 29-year-old Shakir Jackson was fatally shot inside a business on the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood. The shooting happened about 1:00 p.m. at a convenience store described as the Quick Pick or The Spot. A second man was critically wounded and taken to a nearby hospital; he remained in critical condition.
Pittsburgh police detained one person for questioning soon after the shooting, and the Violent Crime Unit took over the investigation. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed Jackson’s identity. No arrests, identified suspects, or charges in connection with Jackson’s death have been announced.
Does anyone have information about the shooting at the Quick Pick/The Spot or saw activity on Frankstown Avenue that afternoon?
