Raul Aballe Salas, 41, was fatally shot on August 17, 2026, after a dispute in northwest Miami-Dade County. Deputies were called about 5:38 p.m. to 3316 NW 38th Street; Aballe was found with a gunshot wound, taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, and pronounced dead at about 7:21 p.m.

Investigators say the shooting followed an argument that turned physical between Aballe and 49-year-old William Serrano Domenech, who was socializing with a woman at the location. The woman reportedly tried to intervene as Serrano Domenech allegedly began slapping and punching Aballe; detectives say Serrano Domenech then pulled a handgun from a fanny pack and shot Aballe in the abdomen. The witness told detectives Aballe was unarmed and had not started the confrontation.

Serrano Domenech was located the next afternoon, detained after officers saw a handgun in a bag he carried, and arrested on second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He allegedly admitted to shooting Aballe but gave a version that differed in parts from the witness account. As of late August 2026, the case remained in the early stages of prosecution.
