I can't stop thinking about the role that environment plays in tragedies like the one involving Antoine Etienne. Renting a home and converting it into a recording studio is not uncommon, but it raises questions about security and neighborhood awareness, especially when luxury cars and increased traffic draw attention. I grew up in areas where homes became creative spaces, and there was always that mix of excitement and unease. It's devastating that a place meant for creativity became a tragic crime scene. Just thinking of Antoine—there to do what he loved, ending up caught in such violence—is deeply unsettling. The police reportedly found evidence from nearby surveillance cameras and shell casings, which may help piece together what happened. It's crucial we continue these discussions about ensuring safety and support for those creating art in makeshift spaces. It's a community shared responsibility to protect those like Antoine, who bring music and creativity into our world. Hoping for justice and, most importantly, peace for Antoine's family and friends.
