In the predawn hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026, two people were fatally shot in Millville, New Jersey, near 815 N. High Street. Ashley Brown, 32, of Millville, and Andy Steven Brazil, 32, of Vineland, were found with gunshot wounds around 3:40 a.m. and were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants of the vehicle — an adult female and a minor female — were not physically injured.

The Millville Police Department and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit say their investigation identified two suspects who were arrested and charged. Daniel L. Gilmore Jr., 50, of Millville, was arrested August 19, 2026, and charged with two counts of homicide, two counts of attempted murder, endangering the welfare of a minor, and multiple weapons offenses. James Harris, 52, of Absecon, was arrested August 17, 2026, and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and related offenses. Prosecutors allege Gilmore fired into the vehicle carrying Brown and Brazil, and Harris fired at a separate passing vehicle. The motive has not been released and the investigation is ongoing.
