Jayden Christman, an 18-year-old, died after being shot inside a DeSoto, Texas, residence on August 16, 2026. The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Sequoia Court at about 4:30 p.m., when a witness called 911 reporting someone had been shot. Officers arriving found Christman with a single gunshot wound to the chest; he was given first aid on scene and transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police detained a male suspect at the residence rather than searching for an unknown shooter. Local reporting identified the suspect as Mirron Boogie Foster, who was arrested the day of the shooting. Foster’s godmother said Christman had been trying to support Foster and that Foster had special needs and prior struggles with mental health; Foster’s family reportedly apologized to Christman’s family. Christman had recently graduated from Mansfield High School and was scheduled to leave the following week to join the United States Army.
DeSoto police described the incident as isolated and said there was no ongoing threat. As of August 25, 2026, no formal charges, trial, plea, or conviction had been publicly announced and investigators had not released a motive or a detailed account of what led to the shooting. Does anyone have information about what happened inside the home that afternoon?
