A Saturday evening argument in Beaumont turned deadly when 43-year-old Kenlyn Clifton Faulk was shot and killed on August 15, 2026. The violence followed an earlier disturbance that reportedly involved Faulk, his ex-girlfriend, and another man. Police responded to reports of shots around 9 p.m. in the 3900 block of Broadmoor and found Faulk with multiple gunshot wounds; he later died at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Faulk is remembered as a father of ten who worked as a plant worker and had a distinctive personality and style.
Investigators tracked a white-shirted male suspect fleeing the scene in a grey Chevrolet Malibu with a woman. Using the city’s Real-Time Crime Center, officers located the vehicle about 30 minutes later; the female driver cooperated and identified where the man had been dropped off. Police found 25-year-old D’onte Lawrence in the 5800 block of Cole Road, recovered a handgun that matched the shooting caliber, and say Lawrence admitted to shooting Faulk. Lawrence was booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on a murder charge and held on $500,000 bond. An autopsy was ordered to determine cause of death.
