Tony L. Camarillo, 31, was fatally shot on the evening of August 12, 2026, in the Ghent neighborhood of Norfolk. Officers found him with a life-threatening gunshot wound on Colley Avenue near Spotswood Avenue at about 8:10 p.m.; he was taken to a hospital and later died. Police characterized the killing as domestic-related and opened a homicide investigation.

Camrillo was an entrepreneur, musician and filmmaker who had become active in Hampton Roads’ creative community. He and his partner, Jaida Garrison, had co-produced a short film that was due to be screened the night of the shooting. Garrison told reporters she was present, heard the gunfire, saw Camrillo collapse and identified her former partner, Skyler Brock, as the person she believed had shot him; she and Brock share a child. Family members reported prior threats and Garrison said she had obtained a protective order in February 2025.

Authorities soon sought Skyler Ray Brock of Seaford and used license-plate camera data to trace a vehicle to Seaford Road. Deputies searched a Seaford residence and later found a vehicle connected to Brock abandoned; the U.S. Marshals Service joined the search. By August 25, Brock had been charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm, described as a fugitive and potentially armed and dangerous; no arrest had been announced. If anyone knew Tony, his movements that night, or Brock’s whereabouts, can you share what you know?
