Lindsay Buziak, a 24-year-old licensed real-estate agent, was murdered after being lured to a vacant home at 1702 De Sousa Place in the Gordon Head area of Saanich, British Columbia, on February 2, 2008. Several days earlier she had received multiple calls from a Vancouver-area number; the caller posed as a woman relocating with her husband and urgently wanted to buy a home. The prepaid phone used to arrange the showing was later found to have been registered under a false name and apparently used only to contact Buziak.
Witnesses saw Buziak meet an unidentified blond woman in a patterned dress and a taller man in a long brown jacket outside the house at about 5:30 p.m. The three entered together. Buziak’s BlackBerry made an accidental outgoing call at about 5:41 p.m., an event investigators believe occurred during the assault; the coroner placed her time of death at approximately 5:40 p.m. She was found in an upstairs master bedroom and died of blood loss from multiple stab wounds. The supposed buyers disappeared and have never been publicly identified.
Did anyone who knew Lindsay or who worked in real estate around Saanich in 2008 ever encounter a couple matching those descriptions or recall unusual interest in vacant listings?
