Casey Armstrong, a 48-year-old man from Medicine Hat, Alberta, was found murdered inside his trailer on Southview Drive on May 22, 2011, during the Victoria Day long weekend. He had last been seen on the night of Friday, May 20, leaving a local pub at about 11 p.m., and was discovered in his bathtub on Sunday morning lying on his side and still wearing Calgary Flames clothing amid extensive blood in the bathroom. Medical evidence indicated one or possibly two knife wounds to the neck that severed major blood vessels and structures, plus cuts to his arms; paramedics believed he had been dead at least 12 hours when found.

Investigators recovered a partial bloody boot print, described as about a men’s size 11E, and a magnetic beaded necklace in a pool of blood on top of the washing machine, but no DNA or fingerprints tied a suspect to the scene. Attention focused on an older red car seen outside the trailer and later identified as a red Pontiac Grand Am that had reportedly been sold for cash and drugs to a person known as Ginger; the vehicle was not located.

Wendy Scott and Connie Oakes were arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Are there details about Armstrong’s movements after he left the pub or anyone who recalls the red car that could help clarify what happened?
