Bernadine Leanne Quewezance was 36 and a member of the Yellow Quill First Nation when she was found dead just outside Saskatoon in early January 2012. Known as Bernie to family and friends, she was the eldest sibling and mother of five, remembered as intelligent, outgoing and warm. The last confirmed sighting was about 10:00 p.m. on January 1, 2012, in Saskatoon; police also received an unconfirmed report placing her near 20th Street at about 4:00 a.m. on January 2.

Her body was discovered about 9:30 a.m. on January 2 in a ditch east of the city, near the intersection of Highway 16 and Zimmerman Road, roughly two kilometres beyond the city limits. RCMP treated the death as suspicious and classified the matter as an unsolved homicide; authorities have not publicly disclosed the precise cause of death. Investigators concentrated on the roughly five-and-a-half-hour window between the possible 4:00 a.m. sighting and the discovery, and asked anyone who traveled Highway 16 or nearby roads that morning to report unusual activity.

Does anyone who was on or near Highway 16 that morning remember seeing a vehicle or person that could help explain what happened to Bernie?
