Louie Bruinsma was 32 when he was last seen leaving his home in Artesia, California, on October 8, 1978. He drove off in his vehicle and did not return; the car was found abandoned a week later, on October 15, in the Newhall area of Santa Clarita. Reports say he had been showing signs of paranoia and erratic speech before he vanished, and his family believed he may have been having a mental breakdown.

At the time he disappeared Bruinsma was 6 feet 1 inch, about 170 pounds, with blonde or strawberry-colored hair, blue eyes, and a neatly trimmed mustache and beard. He wore eyeglasses and on the day he left home was dressed in a white pullover sweater with horizontal stripes, a light blue jacket, jeans, and light brown suede shoes. Investigators have had few leads and the case remains unsolved.

Did anyone in the Artesia or Newhall area remember seeing Louie or his vehicle in October 1978, or have information that could help his family?
