Susan Clary, 20, was found murdered in her Halifax County, North Carolina home on May 16, 1983. She was eight months pregnant and discovered nude in her bed with a bra wrapped around her neck.

The bra was not the cause of death; the medical finding was death by asphyxiation. Two guns were located near her body, but neither yielded fingerprints.
