Clifton Wendell Marsh, a 69-year-old man from Hope, Michigan, was killed while on a fishing trip that began September 29, 1981. He was found dead October 1, 1981, at a rest area along Highway 2 about seven miles east of Devils Lake, North Dakota. An investigation determined he had been shot.

Marsh had been traveling in British Columbia earlier in the trip but his death occurred in North Dakota en route home. Despite the violent nature of his death, no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced; the case remains cold.

Are there any readers who remember Marsh, his travel plans, or who were in the Devils Lake area on or around October 1, 1981, and might have information?
