Pauline Lorraine Klumpp, 51, vanished from Port Arthur, Texas, on July 2, 1988, after visiting a rental property she owned where tenants were living. She was last seen leaving that property in the company of tenant Roy Melanson; witnesses say she had gone there to collect a television and had asked Melanson to help fix an air conditioner. Four days later her car was recovered in a grocery store parking lot with the television still inside, and Pauline has not been seen since.
Foul play is strongly suspected and Melanson, a convicted criminal with a history of violent crimes against women and murder convictions, is considered a prime suspect. He is also suspected in other disappearances, but he has not been charged in Klumpp’s case and her body has never been found. The Port Arthur Police Department lists the case as an open investigation.
Did anyone in Port Arthur know Pauline or the rental property back in July 1988, or have information about where she went after leaving with Roy Melanson?
