Richard J. Blanchette was 58 when he was last seen in Claremont, New Hampshire, on October 14, 2014. Public missing-person records describe him as a White male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing roughly 200 pounds, with gray or partially gray hair and brown eyes. At the time he disappeared he reportedly lived in the 200 block of Broad Street and did not have a vehicle or a cell phone.

He was known to walk in the Claremont area, including along the Sugar River Rail Trail, and one reported possibility is that he may have been walking in the direction of Newport when he vanished. The Charley Project has classified his case as endangered missing and notes he had multiple unspecified medical conditions, though it is unclear whether he was receiving treatment before he went missing.

Details about the circumstances are limited: there is no clothing description, no confirmed destination, and no verified sequence of events after he was last seen. The Claremont Police Department is listed as the investigating agency, and anyone who remembers seeing Richard in Claremont, along the Sugar River Rail Trail, in the Broad Street area, or on a possible route toward Newport around October 14, 2014 is asked to contact the department.
