Michael Adams, a resident of Dayton, Ohio, was killed in the early morning hours of July 17, 2012, when more than 30 rounds were fired from outside a vacant house on West Fairview Avenue. The barrage struck three homes; police later classified Adams’ death as a homicide and said the house where he was staying was not the intended target but was struck in the crossfire.
Two brothers, Antawan Damarr Benson Jr. and Javen E. Conner, were identified as the shooters and arrested on multiple counts of improper discharge of a firearm. The same volley of gunfire also killed 12-year-old Isabella A’more Carlos, who was asleep at the time. Family members described profound devastation in the wake of the killings and the broader community debated gun violence and safety in Dayton.
If anyone knew Michael Adams, his movements that night, or has information about the shooting on West Fairview Avenue, please share what is known.
