Barry Tweeddale Sandberg, 63, and his wife Carol were found stabbed to death in their Bay Park home in San Diego on May 7, 2009. Both were discovered in their bedroom after what investigators described as a nighttime attack; a bloody knife was recovered at the scene. Barry’s Harley-Davidson and a handgun were reported stolen from the residence, but many valuables were left behind, so it remains unclear whether robbery was the primary motive.
The couple had been married 30 years and were well known in their community for their passion for motorcycles. San Diego police collected multiple pieces of physical evidence early in the investigation, and a $51,000 reward has been offered for information. No suspects have been apprehended and the case remains an active cold case.
If anyone knew Barry and Carol, or has information about that night or the missing motorcycle and handgun, please come forward with tips for investigators.
