Derrell Grier was 20 when he was shot and killed on December 19, 2008, in Columbus, Ohio. The shooting happened in a parking lot near the Cassady Market on North Cassady Avenue, close to Agler Road, shortly after Grier had left the market. He died at the scene from a gunshot wound.

Police say the shooting followed an argument with a man identified as Brian Davis, who reportedly pulled out a gun and fired.
