On March 18, 2009, Daren Hakim was shot and killed during a violent home invasion at his Rancho Cucamonga residence. Masked gunmen forced their way into the home and opened fire, then fled the scene in two vehicles described as a red or maroon Nissan Frontier and a silver full-sized pickup truck.

San Bernardino County investigators have not solved the case and continue to seek leads. The homicide remains an open part of the county’s cold-case list while detectives ask anyone with information to contact the Homicide Detail or provide an anonymous tip.
