Janteyl Johnson was 15 and five months pregnant when she disappeared from Newark, Delaware on February 3, 2010. She left school early that day feeling unwell and reportedly made it home to her family’s apartment in Autumn Park. When her brother arrived later the apartment door was unlocked and Janteyl was gone. Her purse, glasses and winter clothes were left behind, suggesting she had not planned to be away long.
Phone records show she received a call from a burner phone shortly before she disappeared; that call was traced to the father of her unborn child, a 26-year-old man. No charges or arrests have been announced. Investigators and family have considered that she may have left with an adult male, and there have been unconfirmed sightings in Wilmington, Philadelphia and New York, but the case remains unsolved. The family does not believe she ran away and say she had no history of extended disappearances.
If anyone knew Janteyl, saw her around February 3, 2010, or has information about the people she was with at that time, please come forward.
