Frederick Walker was found beaten to death inside his Springdale home at 11607 Lawnview Ave after neighbors reported they had not seen him for several days. Officers arriving on July 19, 1999 noted heavy condensation on windows from the air conditioning, a blood trail from the living room down a hallway to the bathroom, and signs of a violent struggle that began in the living room and continued to where Walker’s body was located. He had been deceased for only a couple days. The medical cause of death was listed as manual strangulation and blunt impact to the head.

Walker’s 1971 Buick was later recovered at the nearby Tri-County Mall. Within days his credit cards were being used at gas stations in Indianapolis, and a couple of ATM withdrawals were made though no video evidence was found. Detectives conducted surveillance and on August 17, 1999 arrested Carl Travis for using one of Walker’s credit cards and another family member’s card; Travis did not admit involvement and has not been charged in Walker’s death. DNA and latent print evidence were submitted to state and federal agencies with negative results, and investigators traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to interview a strong person of interest.

Are there anyone who remembers seeing Walker’s 1971 Buick near the mall or noticed suspicious activity around Lawnview Ave in mid-July 1999?
