Yu Chin Goodson, 56, vanished after leaving a Russellville, Alabama halfway house on March 25, 2005. She walked out in the afternoon without identification or the daily medications she needed for paranoid schizophrenia, diabetes and hypertension. A witness reported someone matching her description getting into a small, older-model car—possibly a gray or silver Nissan or Mazda—with a loud muffler, which headed east on Highway 24 toward Decatur.
At the time she disappeared Yu was described as an Asian female with black and graying hair, brown eyes, 4 feet 11 inches to 5 feet 2 inches tall and 115 to 150 pounds, wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans. Authorities believed she may have been trying to reach her son in Decatur. Several unconfirmed sightings, especially around Huntsville, were reported after national media attention, but none led to her location and the investigation remains open.
If anyone saw Yu or the vehicle described on March 25, 2005, or has information about her movements that afternoon, please come forward.
