Roberta Poirier’s body was found on June 1, 1992, in a field in Vandalia, Ohio, by construction workers preparing to excavate. She was discovered unclothed, and an autopsy concluded she had been suffocated, a finding that led investigators to treat the death as a homicide.

At the time, authorities had difficulty developing enough evidence to identify suspects, and the case remains unsolved. The investigation has been maintained in part through inclusion in the Ohio Attorney General’s database of unsolved homicides. The Vandalia Police Department and other law enforcement partners have sought tips from the public and encouraged anyone with information to contact Miami Valley Crime Stoppers or the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Does anyone have information about Roberta’s whereabouts or contacts in the days before June 1, 1992, that could help move this investigation forward?
